This server is run by Standard Output, an Australian cybersecurity company. It is used for a non-commercial research project measuring which web technologies are used by Australian .com.au websites. Results will be published only as aggregate statistics.

What it does

• Looks up public DNS records for .com.au names.
• Makes a small number of ordinary HTTPS requests to port 443, roughly what a browser loading your home page would do.
• Records public information only: the TLS certificate and protocol, HTTP response headers, the page title and markup, and the technologies they indicate (web server, CMS, CDN, frameworks).

What it does not do

• No vulnerability exploitation, logins, form submissions or brute forcing.
• No scanning of other ports or of residential/ISP address ranges.
• No publication of results for individual organisations.

Requests are identified by the user agent StandardOutputResearch/1.0 (+https://researchscanner.standardoutput.com.au).

Opting out

To have your domains or IP ranges excluded from this project, email sam@standardoutput.com.au with the domains or CIDR ranges. They'll be added to an exclusion list and any data already collected for them will be deleted.
